Astra writes personalised audio stories from things you tell us about your life. That only works if you hand over something real, so this page says exactly what we take, where it goes, and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
What we collect

Your profile photo never leaves your phone
If you add one, it is stored on the device and nowhere else. It is not uploaded, not backed up, and not visible to us. It disappears when you uninstall the app.
What we do not collect
No advertising identifiers. No location. No contacts. No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and there is nothing in the app that follows you around the internet.
Who else sees it
Writing a story means sending some of what you told us to the companies whose models produce it. They act as our processors, under contracts that forbid using your data to train their models.

That is the entire list. Nobody else receives your data, and no part of it is sold or shared with advertisers.
Where it is stored
Your account, stories and audio are stored on Google Cloud servers in India (asia-south1). If you are using Astra from outside India, your information is transferred to and stored there. Our model providers process requests in the United States and other countries where they operate.
How long we keep it
Until you delete it. There is no automatic expiry, because your library is the point of the app. When you delete your account we remove your profile, your stories, your audio files and your account itself — see deleting your account. Deletion is immediate and permanent; we keep no backup copy you could ask us to restore.
Your choices
- Use Astra without an account. Guest mode is a full account with no email attached.
- Skip the optional questions. Age and gender can both be left blank and the app works identically.
- See everything we hold. Your profile, library and kept affirmations are all visible in the app.
- Delete everything, yourself, in two taps. Profile → Delete my data.
Depending on where you live you may also have rights to access, correct, export or restrict the processing of your information, and to complain to your data protection authority. Write to us and we will help.
Children
Astra is not for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit and data is encrypted at rest by Google Cloud. Access rules on our database mean one account cannot read another's stories. No system is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if something happens that affects your data.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who receives it, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect.
